Here is every game I've physically attended in the 2026/27 season so far, written in chronological order.
#1 – Bradford City 2-0 Peterborough United – League One – 15 August
A deserved win – easy enough opening day for the Chickens.
#2 – Bradford City 1-0 Mansfield Town – League One – 5 September
Not as cosy as the above, but a good response to what had been a tricky week after the losses to Plymouth and Cambridge.
#3 – Manchester City Women 3-1 Birmingham City Women – Women's Super League – 6 September
Solid opening day at the Joie for the more northern blues as they took a deserved 3 points.
#4 – West Didsbury and Chorlton 0-3 Winsford United - Midlands Football League Premier – 12 September
Winsford put an an absolute clinic defensively and didn't shy away from anything physical, if they can maintain that level of play they'll likely cruise to the MFL title.
#5 – Manchester City Women 4-2 Liverpool FC Women – Women's Super League – 18 September
The scoreline is a harsh one on Liverpool who pressed relentlessly for a fair chunk of the game and made it very hard for City to break them down as the second half ticked along, the 3rd goal coming as an own goal as the game approached added time was very cruel in nature. Best game of the season so far. Lauren Hemp was SUPERB.
